In 2024, the State of Hawaii joined a national procurement contract that allows for discounted purchases of certain goods and services from specified vendors for policing technology, specifically body worn cameras, dashboard cameras, automated license plate readers, interview room cameras, and video-related software and services.
According to contractor reports, the agencies that have used the discounted contracts only purchased equipment from one of the two authorized vendors, Motorola Solutions. [Note: the contractor reports may not be complete because they do not reflect purchases made by the Department of Law Enforcement, see Procurement reference here].
