In 1993, then-prosecutor Keith Kaneshiro convened a special grand jury to investigate the death of Diane Suzuki in 1985.  Decades later, Hawaii News Now requested access to police reports concerning her death.  The Honolulu Police Department denied the request by citing a purported court order from the 1993 proceedings.  On December 4, 2025, Hawaii News Now moved to clarify or amend the scope of that court order.  The motion will be heard by the Honorable Ronald G.
