Public First moved to unseal the Government’s motion for downward departure in the sentencing for Defendant Alan Scott Rudo in United States v. Alan Scott Rudo, No. 22-CR-55-JAO.

On July 18, 2022, Rudo pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit honest services wire fraud related to County of Hawaii affordable housing agreements.  Pursuant to his plea agreement, Rudo agreed to cooperate with the Government.  Before sentencing, the Government filed the motion for downward departure under seal.  The motion will be heard by the Honorable Jill A. Otake.  No. 26-MC-198.
