On October 27, 2026, Public First objected to sealing exhibits to a trial brief filed by a drug manufacturer in an action to invalidate Hawaii law concerning drug discounts in AbbVie Inc. v. Anne E. Lopez, 25-CV-292 SASP-WRP. After the objection, AbbVie withdrew its submission of exhibits, but third parties to the case filed motions to seal potential trial exhibits based on their alleged trade secrets in the documents. Public First filed a position statement regarding the sealing and courtroom closure standards for trial. The sealing issues will be heard by the Honorable Shanlyn A. S. Park.
